Maybe it’s not just grungy black foot dirt. With that disturbing, almost ectoplasmic, green background, it looks to me kind of like ghost feet in there.

You could be like the duke in Cinderella and go around trying to find the owner of the shoes. Except you’d be matching foot to foot print instead of shoe.
